If there was one thing that she hadn’t been expecting - it was to miss him as much as she was now. He hadn’t been gone long but the days without him felt lonelier. Staring at her phone, she finally dialed his number, only wanting to hear his voice even though she’d probably get his voicemail. Instead she heard him pick up on the first ring. “Hey… How’s Denver?” Trying to keep her tone casual and the conversation light.

He smiled upon hearing her voice, he had been thinking about her a lot more since having left town. “It’s going alright. Would be nice to have you here with me though.”  But he didn’t plan on being gone long, eventually he’d come home and get to see her. The conversation was casual for a little while, just talking about everything and anything, because neither wanted to get off the phone quickly.

After awhile, she could hear him being called for dinner. “I hate not being able to see you.” She finally admitted, knowing that he would have to go soon.

“I miss you too.” He replied, smiling into the phone a little bit. “But hey when I get back there’s something I want to tell you in person so save some time for me in that busy schedule of yours.” Deciding to give her something to think about until he got back.

“You know I hate when you leave me hanging like that but I’ll see you soon.” She replied, smiling in return.

“Yes you will.” Was his response, both hanging up the phone moments later, left with the promise of soon.

Tylena Fic - Phoenix from the Ashes

He came back. Tyler Lockwood had left in hopes of breaking his sire bond to Klaus and he had succeeded. He was finally free. But what had he come home too? To see Caroline with Klaus, the man that had ordered him to bite her - who had destroyed everything between them. He couldn’t even begin to fathom how that had come to pass, so he stormed off on her after a huge blowout between the two of them and headed to the Gilbert home. He owed Jeremy an apology but when he got there it was Elena that answered the door, big brown doe eyes laden with sadness that Tyler found himself unable to walk away from as she told him that Jeremy wasn’t there. “What’s wrong Lena?” He finally asked after a moment of silence, never once taking his eyes away from hers.

“I don’t want to feel like this.” Was her reply. Everybody was getting hurt because of her, Bonnie and her mom, and so forth. Damon loved her and she said something she didn’t mean in return and Stefan - he didn’t want to feel anything because it only brought him pain. Where was she supposed to go from here? She couldn’t love them both, it wasn’t right and it certainly wasn’t fair. But choosing one meant hurting the other and could she really bring herself to do that? Elena honestly didn’t know anymore… and she didn’t know why she was breaking down in front of Tyler Lockwood at this very minute. So when he stepped over the threshold of her doorway and pulled her into a hug, she didn’t resist but rested her head against his shoulder and closed her eyes. It wasn’t the first time they had held each other like this. Remembering how he had once confessed he didn’t want to be like he was anymore.

Days turned into weeks, and weeks into months and Elena found herself spending more and more time with Tyler. After a lot of heart ache and pain - she let both the Salvatore brothers go. Because choosing one would only hurt the other, and drive them further apart and Elena could no longer come between family. Maybe it was the fact that he was there when she needed him, to provide a distraction, or comfort in the days afterwards that made her fall for him.

And Tyler realized after awhile he had fallen for her as well. She didn’t judge him, she accepted him for him and was patient, warm, and caring and could put him in his place when he needed to be. And maybe it was wrong of them to feel the way they did about one another given everything and everyone in their past but when he dropped her home one night after a movie, and he finally summed up enough courage to kiss her - it couldn’t feel more right.

Because from the ashes, rose something greater than they’d ever thought they’d find.

“Where are we going?” Katherine asked, tilting her head to look at Jeremy from the passenger seat.

“You’ll see.” He said, smirking a little as he drove. All his instructions had been was to pack a bag for the weekend and be ready by noon. He wanted it to be a surprise.

Katherine let out a sigh, glancing out the window. She liked being the one to surprise everybody else, not be the one surprised. But love made you do crazy things.

Jeremy smirked to himself and drove down the road, that narrowed and became windier the closer they got to their destination. It had been awhile since he had been here last, the distant seeming childhood memories rising to the surface. He missed his parents each and every day. The memories stung because he knew he could no longer make new memories at the lake house with his family. Hopefully he could make new and lasting memories with Katherine.

A left turn off the back roads took him down a narrow dirt lane that led up to the lake house, finally pulling to a stop and smiling over at Katherine. In return, she smiled back at him as they got out of the car, the summer air greeting them both.

“So just you and me all weekend long?” She asked, a playful smirk on her lips as they brought their things inside and put them on the ground.

“Just you and me.” He nodded, placing his hands on her hips and pulling her close to him as he placed a soft kiss on her lips.

Katherine smirked and deepened the kiss, pressing him back up against the wall as his fingers nails tore apart the shirt that he was wearing.

Jeremy’s grip on her tightened, his lips devouring hers as he flipped them so that she was pinned against the wall, his lips trailing down her neck. He never could get enough of her.

Katherine smirked devilishly as she pushed him away lightly. “Try and catch me.” And she was off running out the door, using a human enough speed as she stripped off her clothes on the way down to the lake. She had just reached the dock when Jeremy caught up to her, picking her up and taking her with him into the water.

The sound of Katherine’s laughter echoed around them as they rose for air, her legs wrapping around his waist allowing their bodies to conjoin together in the most intimate of ways.

Their bodies moving against each other to the rhythm of his heart beat.

Love was never meant to last.

At least not for Elena Gilbert. Losing everything she loved seemed to be the way her life was meant to be.

I think I wanna marry you - - Stelena Fic

A love like that never dies.

All around them trees sprung up from the ground, magnificent hues of brown, orange, yellow, and green as summer faded into fall. The weather was still pleasant, enough so that the windows were rolled down a little as the scenery blurred past their eyes.

Starts with a kiss - Tylena fic

It was the summer before high school, Elena had spent as much time with Tyler and the rest of her friends as possible. They still fit in their pancake sundays after church, camped out in tents, enjoyed their ice cream sundaes, and watched peter pan like they did when they were little.

Never Ever Land Pt. 2 - Tylena Fic

Elena Salvatore stood in the living room watching her daughter play with Tyler and Caroline’s adopted son. The two were about the same age and as thick as thieves as she recalled her and Tyler to be when they were that age. How everyone had thought her and Tyler would be the ones to get married someday. But life had taken them in two different directions.

Stefan had found a way to become human and not long after the two were married, and a kid was on the way not long after that. Tyler and Caroline followed suit and all of it just seemed to fall into place. There lives finally had some resemblance of normal now and it was a great feeling to be had.

Caroline and Stefan were in the kitchen, her blonde best friend having wanted to learn the dish he was making so she could cook it for Tyler. She was lost in her own thought when she felt Tyler beside her, brown eyes meeting his with a smile.

“They remind me of us when we were younger.” Tyler said, expressing her thoughts out loud.

“That they do.” She replied, her smile widening a bit as she looked at the pair of children and back at Tyler. So lost in their own little world like her and Tyler had been once upon a time. But they had been forced to grow up with the harsh realities of their life.

“Maybe this time will be different.” He said, an understanding passing between the two of them.

“Maybe.” Elena agreed.

Is this love that I’m feeling? - - Tylena Fic

Promise me that you’ll never fall in love with me.

That was all Elena Gilbert had asked of Tyler Lockwood when they realized that there was something more between them than just friendship. And eventually she gave into allowing them to explore what those feelings were because they owed it to themselves. He had been her best friend until high school, then their friendship faded, only to pick up again like it never had ended when things started getting rough between her and Damon. He had been the one to comfort her, hold her, make her feel better, and be the distraction that she needed. It wasn’t hard to see why she started to feel something for him.

“I love you.” Tyler said, as the two of them paused at the wickery bridge as they took a walk on a beautiful summer’s day.

“Ty..” Elena started, shaking her head at him lightly. “You promised you wouldn’t fall in love with me.” Big chocolate brown eyes filled with more emotions than a girl her age probably should feel.

Tyler sighed lightly, brushing a strand of her brown hair behind her ears. “I know I did but I couldn’t stop myself from falling in love with you and I don’t regret it one bit Elena.” He meant every single word. Tyler had tried to fight it at first but there was no stopping himself from falling in love with the brown-eyed, brown-haired girl in front of him.

Elena bit down on her lip nervously, sorting through her thoughts and emotions. She had been heartbroken so many times that when she had wound up taking a chance with Tyler, she didn’t want to fall in love again. Because all she did was love and get hurt but he had never hurt her like they had. She was happy with him. She wasn’t a girl who looked like a vampire of an ex-girlfriend to him, she wasn’t caught between him and his brother, it was just him and her and no one else. “I…” She began, stopping momentarily.

“It’s okay Elena. I get it.” Tyler replied with a shrug, taking that as her not feeling the same way about him.

“No you don’t.” She replied, shaking her head. “I told myself not to fall in love with you because I was afraid that I’d just wind up just as broken as before. I told you not to fall in love with me because you deserve better. I’ve been afraid that I couldn’t love again or at least give most of my heart and I wanted you to be with somebody that could give you their full heart. But the truth is - I fell in love with you too somewhere along the way.” She replied softly, her eyes focusing on the ground.

“Hey look at me…” He said softly, cupping her chin so that he could lift up her face to look at him. “You’ve already given me all I deserve and more Elena. I know you’ve been hurt but I also know how big your heart is. So let’s just start with love and see where it goes from here.” His thumb trailing across her jaw line.

“Okay.” She replied, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips.

Tyler placed his hands on her hips, pulling her closer as he brought her lips to hers lovingly as Elena wrapped her arms around his neck.

A kiss that Elena knew tasted of love and happiness. Nobody ever said love was easy but with him, it was a love worth fighting for.
